Ti Spring Advantages
Lighter: Titanium’s low modulus, low
density, and high strength combine to produce a spring which is typically 40%
to 50% lighter than a steel spring. In most Motocross applications this
translates into a 2lb weigh savings.
Improved Sag Resistance: RCS Titanium springs are designed to provide the lowest
possible weight while withstanding the harshest use without the sagging found
in steel springs.
Tougher: RCS Titanium springs have tested 200-300% better
fatigue than the highest quality steel spring. Our Ti Motocross springs are
produced using the same design, materials and manufacturing processes as our
NHRA Pro-Stock Ti valve springs and Formula 1 suspension springs.
Improved traction and handling: Titanium springs are lighter than steel and have less
mass to accelerate each time the suspension activates. The lower mass system
takes less energy to accelerate and decelerate. This allows the wheel to
track terrain more accurately by reducing the “spring surge” which
contributes to wheel hop. Many riders describe improved traction and control
with the use of Titanium suspension springs.
